Hello! My name is Chelsy Bannon.

I’ve been a stay-at-home mom to a little boy named Leighton for two and a half years. I did gentle parenting at home, lots of Montessori/interactive play, DIY sensory bins, etc. I worked at a group home for the mentally ill for five years before having my son. Mental health has always fascinated me, as well as child development. I worked with children for over a decade at Shelbyville Community Church and in the Children’s Ministry at Shelbyville Christian Fellowship for the past two years until they closed their doors! I have always had a huge heart for children and Ministry. I thought my church shutting down would be hard to deal with, but look at the door God has opened on my walk of faith! One door shut, and immediately he was on the move to use me for his will as the next door opened! I cannot express how thankful I am to be a part of KPC and to work in the highest’s honor while loving the most beautiful of his creations! Faith really can move mountains!

I went to SCC from when I was a child until I was out of high school. I went to youth group, Sunday service volunteered in the five-year-olds class every Sunday (the nostalgia is unreal! I can’t believe God has led me back to the very room I started in!), and numerous mission trips and youth group outings.

Once I had a child of my own, I fully understood the unconditional and never-ending love that Jesus has for us, his children. That ultimately led me back to him. I had fallen away for about six years.

I cannot wait to meet your littles and to be a part of their development, well-being, and walk of faith!
